Every founder knows the moment. The business is finally growing, the calendar is full, and the person who started it all is still the one answering every message late at night. For Daniel Ochoa, founder of DC Helpers VA, that moment is more than a familiar story. It is the reason his company exists.

Since 2023, Ochoa has been building DC Helpers VA from Medellín, Colombia, as a virtual assistant agency with a simple purpose. He wants to help entrepreneurs and founders widen their horizons by giving them the support they need to keep growing.

A company born from watching founders carry everything

Daniel did not start with a business plan about outsourcing. He started with something more personal, a close look at what it really takes to build a company.

I know what a founder goes through, and I know the daily battles of the people who work behind the scenes. I wanted to make that road a little easier for both.

That perspective shapes everything the company does. Founders often have the vision and the drive to grow, but not the hours. The follow ups, the scheduling, the paperwork and the endless inbox quietly eat the time that should go into clients, ideas and family.

What DC Helpers VA does

DC Helpers VA gives business owners two kinds of support that work together, both explained on its services page.

  • Virtual assistants. Real people who take on the day to day tasks that keep a business running, from client follow ups and calendar management to CRM updates and administrative work.
  • Autonomous assistants. Smart tools that respond to inquiries and keep conversations moving, even after hours, so no opportunity waits until the next morning. Done well, this kind of technology keeps the warmth that clients expect, something we explored in how small businesses can use AI without losing the human touch.

The agency found its first clients in two industries where time and responsiveness decide everything, real estate and insurance. A realtor out showing homes cannot always answer a new lead. An insurance producer buried in quotes can easily miss a renewal conversation. Those are exactly the gaps DC Helpers was built to close.

Today the company is open to any business or professional who needs that kind of support, whatever the industry.

Support that grows in both directions

What sets DC Helpers apart, in Daniel’s view, is that support is not a one way street. The company is built to take care of its clients and its own team with the same commitment.

We want the people who hire us and the people who work with us to feel truly supported. When that happens, everyone grows, personally and financially.

It is a philosophy that turns a service into a partnership. Clients gain time and consistency, and the team behind them gains stability and room to develop. In Daniel’s eyes, a business only grows well when the people inside it grow too.

In his own words

Why do you do this work?

“Honestly, because I enjoy it. But there is more to it than that. When you see everything a founder or an employee goes through every day, you want to contribute something. If I can help those people grow in every part of their lives, that makes it worth it.”

Who is DC Helpers for?

“Our roots are in real estate and insurance, and we know those worlds well. But we are open to helping any company or person who needs support to keep moving forward.”

The bigger picture

Remote support has changed what a small business can become. A founder no longer needs a large office or a full in house team to operate with the consistency of a much bigger company. The U.S. Small Business Administration’s business guide is a good reminder of how many moving parts a founder manages on any given week. What they need is the right support at the right moment, and people who care about their growth as much as they do.

That is the space Daniel has chosen to build in. Not as a vendor that takes tasks off a list, but as a partner that helps founders reclaim their time and grow with confidence.
